Ôshi remembers a sad event for Yuki
Ôshi's older sister, Mio, tells him that "The opposite of like is indifference" as a hint about his relationship with Yuki.
That same day, while Ôshi goes to the pool with the swimming club, he sees Yuki running as she passes through the pedestrian crossing, and follows her as a bodyguard, until he reaches the civic center and sees her with his sister.
Yuki sees him and asks him how he is, but Ôshi doesn't want to sign in front of Mio out of embarrassment, but he still answers in sign language.
As the days go by, he learns more signs, but his signs are always ugly words, although for him they are his way of getting her attention.
The years go by until they reach 6th grade. While Ôshi waits for his swimming club mates, he sees Yuki running towards him. He asks her why he always runs. Yuki answers, speaking, that she does it for the cars, so they don't wait. Ôshi sees this as an appropriate consideration.
At that moment, those from the swimming club arrive, who recognize Yuki for being the "girl who doesn't listen." She is greeting by speaking, which makes the other children start to make fun of her, because her voice is strange.
Ôshi doesn't know if Yuki has understood, but when he turns to look at her, he sees her crying. Ôshi becomes angry with this group, and can only give comforting words to Yuki, which she stops speaking in public from that moment on.
Ôshi reflects on his actions with Yuki, but preferred to turn a blind eye so as not to hurt Yuki.
In the present, Ôshi realizes that he hasn't experienced things on his own, but influenced by his sister and his friends. He also notices that Yuki is good at reading her facial expressions, so he can't lie to her.
Ôshi arrives at his friend Mitoki's house, where his other friend, Batayan, is also there to talk. Ôshi gives them the meal voucher from his restaurant, and apologizes for being inconsiderate, something that his friends don't believe. He also tells them that he abandons the plan to conquer Yuki, because he knows that she isn't well, but he wants to do something first
